A Project of Our Saviour Lutheran Church (Southern Pines) and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (Brevard)In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina, trees and brush cover the landscape making road passage and home access difficult for many. Debris removal will allow clothes, food and other supplies to be distributed to families in need. Tools for Hope is an initial recovery outreach project enabling first phase recovery with chainsaws, pole saws, rakes, axes, hand tools and work gloves to be loaned to Western North Carolina locals impacted by Hurricane Helene for tree and brush removal. Once the initial recovery phase ends, the tools will be donated to the Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (www.abccm.org) who will provide ongoing support to Asheville, North Carolina area recovery.
Needed Items: 20-inch gas and battery-operated chainsaws, 8-inch gas and battery-operated pole saws, welded steel lawn rakes, pick axes, steel splitting axes, steel camp axes, shovels, premixed small engine 2-cycle fuel, contractor grade 3-mil trash bags, conventional bar and chain oil, leather and polyester work gloves.
