FAMILY PROMISE OF MOORE COUNTY

  • A non-profit organization whose mission is to provide shelter, food and opportunities to help women and their children experiencing homelessness.
  • The FP shelter is supported by volunteers from 17 area Congregations and organizations.
  • Our Saviour has partnered with Family Promise since 2000.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

  • Exercises oversight of all financial affairs
  • Posts contributions
  • Acknowledges Memorial gifts

FUN ON FRIDAY

  • A meet and socialize event
  •  Meets on the 4th Friday of each month at 11:30 am.
  •  A local restaurant is chosen that can accommodate 25 people
  •  Open to all members, no age restrictions
  • A great way to socialize and get to know each other.

HOSPITALITY

  • Sunday morning coffee before and after Church Service 10:00 - 12:00
  • Assists other groups with special events
  • Fosters a warm and inviting atmosphere by setting up coffee and snacks for all to enjoy while welcoming everyone to worship.
  • Opportunities range from providing snacks, setup coffee hour, help with special events.

MATTHEW 25 MINISTRY

  • A feeding ministry of OSLC providing lunches every Tuesday to Sandhills Moore Coalition and Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Robbin’s, where they are distributed to those food insecure individuals and families.
  • Shop for supplies
  • Pick up Panera donations twice a week
  • Assemble lunches by filling brown paper bags with purchased and donated food
  • Deliver the lunches and extra donated food.
  • We welcome anyone who is interested in taking part in the ministry.

RIGHTNOW MEDIA SMALL GROUP STUDIES

  • Everyone is encouraged to deepen their faith and understanding of God’s word and our role in his plan
  • RightNow Media is a massive resource of programs for adults, youth and children on a variety of topics and available on our website
  • The materials are both entertaining and educational providing adults with meaningful studies about the bible or life skills and safe, appropriate programs to entertain children

SEVEN LAKES SMALL GROUP

  • Any adult is welcome. Non-church members also welcome
  • Provides an opportunity for spiritual growth and deepening connection with God and each other; build lay ministry leadership; activate God's kingdom in our community.
  • Meets every Thursday at 6:00 pm.
  • Begins with a light, easy pot-luck meal, then gets into the study and discussion.

SEW SPECIAL & QUILTERS GUILD

  • The Sew Special group of sewers meet the second and fourth Thursday mornings from 9 AM till noon.
  • Quilts created are donated to locations in the US and throughout the world.
  • Sew Special is an opportunity to be “crafty”, share fellowship and help people in need.
  • Sew Special organizes and teaches a sewing camp each summer to teach rising 3rd graders to rising 8th grade boys and girls the basics of sewing.

STEWARDSHIP - GENEROSITY LEADERS

  • Encourages congregation to participate in the ministries of the church with their time, talents and treasure
  • Encourages the congregation to support the day-to-day financial needs of the church

SUMMER CAMPS & YOUTH MISSION CAMPS

  • Summer day camp programs are available here at OSLC for one week of the summer.
  • Preschool children and elementary children engage in fun activities, games, songs, crafts while learning about God’s love and his plan for them.
  • Middle school students attend a week of sleepover camp immersing them in God’s beautiful creation in the mountains while building relationships with students from other Lutheran programs and learning about their faith and their place in God’s world.
  • Confirmation sleepover camp and youth mission camps are each a week long in the summer.

WORSHIP AND MUSIC

  • Helps the pastor plan Sunday worship services with input on liturgy settings and hymns
  • Identifies and addresses congregation needs

  • Schedules Altar Guild, Ushers, Lectors Assisting Ministers and Communion Assistants
